Child Safety Seat Information

Car Seat Info

basic-car-seat-safety.pdf

The car seat program is geared to educate the child's care giver in the proper seat for that specific child and the proper installation in the vehicle used to transport that child.
Other information is also given regarding how the child should be strapped into the car seat and the care of the car seat, just to name a couple of topics.

Persons eligible to receive a free car seat are those receiving governement assistance, i.e. food stamps or Hoosier Health.
Those interested must call to first confirm that the program has available funds. Funds used to purchase the car seats are provided from grants and not tax payer dollars.

Car seat installations and inspections are done 7 am to 3 pm on days that Sergeant Anspach is working.
Appointments can be made by calling the Columbia City Police Department at 260-248-5121.

Presentations to civic organizations, day care providers, pre-schools and others can also be scheduled by contacting Sergeant Anspach at the Columbia City Police Department.
